Matthew 25:1-13 - Stay Ready

Jesus promised us that one day, He would return for us.  Whether we see Him in the clouds or see Him after closing our eyes to this world, we will see Him again.  This reality begs a sobering question.

Are you ready? I work in a place where the saying is, “stay ready, so you don't have to get ready.” How are you living your life? Are you staying ready? Think about it. Our afterlife depends on us being ready.  Like the parable of the ten bridesmaids in Matthew 25:1-13, five are ready and five are caught playing when the groom comes.   Brethren, we must stay ready.   We need to realize this isn’t a game.  Jesus Christ is the truth, and the truth can set you free or the truth can reveal how wicked we really are.  I’m not saying this to scare anyone.  I am speaking from a place of love and from a place of responsibility.  We must live our lives every day for Christ. There's no time off in this. We are going to fail here and there but recognize the failure and repent!  Learn from the trial, if there was one, and turn from the behavior completely.  God knows we are sinners which is why he gave us this gift of salvation.  He knows we can’t accomplish it without Him.  Keep your eyes on the prize.  Like the apostle Paul says run the race with vigor to receive the reward at the end.  Paul preached as hard as he could, never rested, never faltered, kept his eye on the task commanded to him by Jesus Christ.  Paul spread the word of God and died doing this task for the Lord.  Here we are, thousands of years later.  Are you ready or are you playing games? What’s your eye on? Are you pushing the line for the lord?

My Village brothers and sisters, we don’t know when Christ will return.  If you’re a believer, you would like it to be sooner than later.  I am praying for us that we will all be ready.

Let us remember ALL people EVERYWHERE strive to live in peace, with grace, dignity, and love in their lives.  From the cities in the USA to the townships of Egypt.  Humans are looking for a certain sense of security.  It’s ingrained in all our beings.  Safety, security, Love.  It’s those of us who have found Jesus Christ and keep Him in the forefront of our lives who have found that.  Christ has the authority over all things there is nothing He can’t do.  Just believe, have faith in him and watch what he does in your life.  We are blessed to be in this situation.  Blessed to have a spiritual home where we can fellowship. Blessed to have a shepherd of our own who teaches from the word of God not from his own mouth, blessed to stand with Christ when it seems the world is spiraling out of control.  Thank You God for all you have done and continue to do.  You are the true living God. AMEN!
